The Sorting Office Studios

The Sorting Office is a creative hub launched as part of a European-funded initiative called Recreate and opened in 2013 by Wayne Hemingway MBE.

This facility offers affordable workspace to artists and designer-makers within a supportive environment to help them to develop their creative practices and grow their business. Converted from Eastleigh’s former Royal Mail sorting office built in the 1920s, this unique space offers open plan units, lockable private units and a Production House for large scale projects. There is also a loading bay and a secure car park.

Recreate was a cross-Channel partnership of 14 organisations in South East England and Northern France, backed by European funding agency Interreg. Eastleigh Borough Council was a leading partner in this initiative which aimed to regenerate local areas through economic development and supporting growth in the creative economy.

The Sorting Office is conveniently located just a short walk away from Eastleigh’s train and bus stations, and is within a five minute drive from both the M3 and M27 motorways.
